About the role
Amaris Consulting is looking for a senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join an early-stage digital marketplace project.
The platform is focused on high-performance sealing solutions for the aerospace, space, and nuclear industries. It is being built for the US market and hosted in an Azure Government environment, where security, export control, and governance requirements are central to the work.
The project is less than 1 year old and is entering a critical 6 to 10-week build phase. You’ll join a small team of around 6 people and have a direct influence on the platform’s technical foundations, deployment processes, and operating model.
Your responsibilities
You will help design, implement, and operate the platform’s DevOps capabilities, including:
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab or GitHub, self-hosted on Azure virtual machines
- Managing infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Deploying and operating an application built with Angular, Django, and PostgreSQL
- Managing Azure Web Apps and related Azure infrastructure
- Defining deployment, monitoring, backup, and recovery practices
- Supporting secure operations within an Azure Government tenant
- Working with an external provider responsible for managing the Azure Government environment
- Maintaining and improving the platform after the initial implementation
- Contributing to technical decisions, architecture choices, and development standards
- Documenting infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures
- Helping the team meet security, compliance, and export control requirements
What we’re looking for
You’re a senior DevOps Engineer who enjoys building platforms from the ground up and working directly with technical teams.
You should have:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps automation and cloud operations
- Strong Terraform skills
- Experience setting up and managing GitLab or GitHub in a self-hosted environment
- Practical experience designing CI/CD pipelines
- Experience operating web applications in production
- Knowledge of Angular and Django deployment patterns
- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- A strong understanding of cloud security, identity, access control, and network configuration
- Experience working in regulated, restricted, or compliance-heavy environments
- The ability to make sound technical decisions with limited supervision
- Clear written and spoken English
- A practical, hands-on approach to delivery
Eligibility requirement
Due to the project’s US Government environment and export control requirements, applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
