Job description
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an experienced Cutover Manager to join a major transformation program within a leading private banking environment. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing end-to-end cutover and migration activities, ensuring seamless transitions into production with minimal business disruption.
Acting as the central orchestrator across technology and business teams, you will drive readiness, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and lead critical go-live events in a highly regulated and time-sensitive environment. This position requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to perform under pressure while maintaining control of complex delivery activities.
Your Missions
Cutover Planning & Execution
- Define and manage the overall cutover strategy, including detailed runbooks, migration plans, readiness criteria, and go/no-go governance.
- Lead end-to-end cutover planning activities across multiple technical and business workstreams.
- Establish and manage cutover timelines, task sequencing, dependencies, and critical path activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate cutover rehearsals, simulation exercises, and dry runs to validate execution readiness.
- Ensure rollback and contingency plans are documented, tested, and executable throughout the migration lifecycle.
Stakeholder Coordination & Governance
- Serve as the central point of coordination during migration and go-live activities across business, technology, operations, and external vendors.
- Drive alignment across infrastructure, application, data, testing, and operational teams to ensure readiness milestones are achieved.
- Facilitate governance meetings, readiness reviews, and go/no-go decision forums with senior stakeholders.
- Proactively identify, assess, and escalate risks, issues, and blockers that may impact successful deployment.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain cutover dashboards, status reporting, and executive communications throughout migration windows.
- Monitor execution progress in real time, ensuring rapid issue resolution and effective decision-making during critical deployment periods.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned to continuously improve cutover methodologies, governance, and delivery practices.
- Contribute to the development of standardized migration and cutover frameworks across the organization.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT project delivery, with substantial experience leading complex cutover, migration, and go-live activities.
- Proven track record managing large-scale transformation programs within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of migration planning, release management, environment readiness, dependency management, and operational transition processes.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple concurrent workstreams and deliver successful outcomes under strict timelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align senior business and technology leaders.
- Self-driven and highly autonomous, capable of independently structuring and leading the cutover workstream from planning through execution.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and enforce delivery governance when required.
- Hands-on experience with cutover runbooks, RAID management, dependency mapping, readiness assessments, and reporting tools.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal; French language skills would be advantageous.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
