Job description

Mission Context:

The client is facing significant issues on pharmaceutical utilities and is looking for a hands-on consultant with a strong technical mindset to stabilize, troubleshoot, and improve utilities performance.

 

You will act as a Utilities Consultant within a GMP environment, working closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and QA to ensure the reliability, compliance, and availability of critical utilities.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot recurring issues on utilities (e.g. purified water / WFI, clean steam, HVAC, compressed air, gases, etc. – to be adapted to client scope).

  • Perform or coordinate technical interventions on utilities equipment and systems, in collaboration with maintenance and external vendors.

  • Analyse root causes of failures and propose corrective and preventive actions to secure utilities performance.

  • Monitor utilities performance and critical parameters, and implement follow-up indicators (KPIs, trend analysis).

  • Ensure GMP compliance of utilities operations (documentation, change control, qualification, deviations, CAPA).

  • Contribute to or lead improvement projects on utilities reliability, robustness, and energy efficiency.

  • Draft and update technical documentation: procedures, work instructions, checklists, intervention reports.

  • Act as a technical point of contact for utilities topics for internal teams and external partners.

 

Profile Requirements:

  • Education: Technical degree / Engineer / Master in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, utilities engineering, process engineering, or equivalent.

  • Experience:

    • 4–6 years of experience in utilities / technical services / engineering in a pharmaceutical or highly regulated industrial environment.

    • Strong hands-on experience on utilities systems and equipment (operation, troubleshooting, maintenance coordination).

     

  • Technical skills:

    • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical utilities and associated constraints (GMP, qualification, critical parameters).

    • Experience in problem-solving and root cause analysis on technical systems.

    • Ability to work both on the field (shopfloor / technical areas) and on documentation (reports, procedures, investigations).

     

  • Soft skills:

    • Pragmatic, hands-on, and solution-oriented.

    • Strong communication skills with operational teams and management.

    • Ability to work under pressure in a context of recurring issues and high expectations.

    • Autonomy, rigor, and sense of ownership.
