As a Fermentation Technician, you will contribute to the development and optimization of microbial products within our Life Sciences business line. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and support innovation in fermentation processes.

Your missions

• Conduct fermentations of microbial products (starter cultures/probiotics) and analyze final products
• Support fermentation scientists and execute experimental studies efficiently to meet project goals and timelines
• Optimize current fermentation and downstream processes
• Identify and resolve technical issues impacting yield and viability of cultures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in fermentation, formulation, freeze-drying, application, and analysis
• Process and interpret experimental data, write experimental reports in English, and present technical data internally

Your profile

• Academic background: BSc (HBO) or MBO degree in Life Science, Biochemical or Food Process Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related fields
• Experience with fermentation of microbial products
• Knowledge of flow cytometry, pH-acidification curves, and plating techniques is a plus
• You can easily collaborate with Operations to improve fermentation processes
• Strong critical and analytical skills, initiative, creativity, and enjoyment of laboratory work
• Ownership, adaptability, proactive attitude, effective communication, flexibility, enthusiasm, precision, and resilience
• English fluent. Dutch is a big plus.
