Brief Call: Our process typically begins with a brief virtual/phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!
Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Of course, you will also get to know Amaris: our culture, our roots, our teams, and your career opportunities!
Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job description
At Amaris Consulting, we are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients. We are currently seeking a talented Embedded Firmware / FPGA Engineer to join our dynamic team, based in Belgium. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing embedded firmware and FPGA solutions for a wide range of applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
🔥 Your Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test embedded firmware and FPGA solutions for various systems and products.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define hardware/software requirements and system architecture.
- Write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code in C, C++, VHDL, Verilog, or other relevant programming languages.
- Integrate and validate firmware and FPGA designs on hardware platforms, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Debug and troubleshoot firmware, FPGA, and hardware issues, providing effective solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in embedded systems and FPGA development.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored embedded firmware and FPGA solutions.
🎯 Your Profile:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded firmware and/or FPGA development or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, VHDL, and/or Verilog for embedded systems and FPGA programming.
- Solid understanding of microcontrollers, FPGAs, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and hardware-software integration.
- Experience with debugging tools, version control systems, and embedded/FPGA development environments (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French (Dutch is a plus).
- Experience in preparing technical documentation and supporting product validation.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
