During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job description

Consultant Mechanical Development Engineer

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team of consultants to support our client, specializing in the development of consumer products. This role involves working from initial design concepts through to mass production within a multidisciplinary team.

Your Challenge

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design, implementation, testing, and documentation necessary to support the development of mechanical modules and components.

Responsibilities

  • Design and detail mechanical components and systems according to product requirements, including predictive analysis and calculations.
  • Select appropriate materials (metal and plastics) and processes for designs.
  • Create detailed 3D and 2D files incorporating Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly requirements.
  • Manage product requirements, lead DFMEA’s, and follow the V-model methodology.
  • Obtain parts and create prototypes.
  • Lead ideation sessions, drive concept creation, and decision-making.
  • Plan and prioritize your work, managing interfaces with other modules/parts using an agile approach.
  • Depending on team role, oversee complete appliance development.
  • Write test protocols, conduct tests, analyze data, and report results.
  • Develop new test methods and tools in collaboration with T&V architects and engineers.
  • Interact successfully with associates in other departments to achieve project and product objectives.
  • Identify gaps and implement improvements to elevate the mechanical engineering group.
  • Capture and re-use existing knowledge, sharing learnings.
  • Document choices and proof in a Design History File.
  • Archive design files in Windchill.
  • Be a highly motivated, self-disciplined, open-minded individual with hands-on skills.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in mechanical product development for mass production.
  • Proactive, hands-on team player with strong ambition, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Familiar with state-of-the-art development techniques and skilled in 3D CAD (Siemens NX and/or CREO).
  • Knowledge of mechanical constructions in plastic and/or metal and familiar with mass manufacturability aspects (mould/assembly tooling design).
  • Ability to document requirements, tests, and designs.
  • Experience with CFD analysis, FEA (Ansys), and/or other analytical software programs.
